Luxembourg-based General Mediterranean Holding group has announced that construction work is in progress on the new high-tech Iraqi-German Ibn Hayyan Hospital complex in Baghdad, Iraq.
Located close to the banks of the expansive River Tigris in the centre of the Iraqi capital, the 58,700sqm development will feature several clinics and around 360 beds, and serviced apartment block as well as a staff building.
The project has been designed and supervised by Mebex Consultants, while ATK Construction is acting as the lead construction company. Work on the project started in January 2013 and is set to open later this year.
General Mediterranean Holding is also planning to include a university college within the grounds, where the next generation of Iraqi doctors can obtain valuable practice and experience.
